Dartington has a long history of supporting education and driving innovative new ways of learning.

We would love your school to come and visit our beautiful estate, and experience the range of art, craft, outdoor and ecology activities that take place here.

Free self –led visits

Deer Park

Explore our medieval Deer Park for free, learn about its majestic history, and see if you can spot our shyest residents! Find out more >

Gardens

Come and visit our Grade II* Listed Gardens! We offer a discounted rate for school groups that includes a children’s trail pack. Book here >

Cinema

Our beautiful Independant cinema is set in converted 14th Century barn and has community at its heart. We offer 15% for groups of 10 or more – perfect for media studies, foreign language or end of term treat trips! See What’s On >

Theatre

We have an exciting programme of theatre for children and young people. Contact the Arts Team for specific schools’ performances and group booking discount rates arts@dartington.org.

Engage Programme

In 2022 we worked with 300 children from across South Hams and Torbay on a series of workshops exploring beatboxing, electronics and sound art. If you’d like to discuss a school project linked to our arts programme, please contact us: arts@dartington.org.

Bookable Tours

Henri’s Field

Book a tour with our Head Gardener and learn about how we grow food! Henri’s Field is a biodynamic food and horticulture space used by our Schumacher College students to learn about growing.

Garden Tour

Our wonderful volunteers will lead you on a tour of our Grade II* Listed Gardens, helping your students discover the history and hidden gems of this special place.

Solar Array and Biomass Tours

Discover how we are creating our own energy with our innovative solar array and biomass boiler. Tours are led by our Land Management team.

VISITING US

We would love to welcome you and your students to the estate. We are well located with easy transport routes and lots of space to run around and explore.
